Google is increasing the minimum hardware specs for Android phones shipping with Google Mobile Services. New devices must now be equipped with more RAM and storage to ship with the Google Play Store and Play Services. While these specifications are well below most existing entry-level offerings, the update also enforces support for emergency contact sharing with emergency services.
